Today Is A New Beginning
By Michaela Lee
Scripture of the Day: Psalm 126:4-6 Bring back our captivity, O LORD, As the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him.
GOD grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference! Amen
For many years of my addiction I actually believed my drinking gave me courage. I could be what ever I wanted to be, for me that dream was to be a model. I was going to be a somebody. Only to wake up twenty years later just trying to make it through the day. Stuck in a dead end job, living in a roach infested apartment, all dreams long dead and buried in a river of tears and sorrow and pity of what could have been if only.......
Through the Grace of God I was set free not only from my addition but from sin and death. As a new creation in Christ Jesus it wasn’t "like" being born, I was born again. Those same childlike dreams filled my heart again. I was going to do great things for God. I was filled with hopes and dreams all over again. Then through growing up again, and many falls along the way, shame and fear caused me once again to be buried in a river of tears and sorrow.
Now, some years later there’s a joy in my spirit I can't explain, a hope that is longing to jump up and announce to the world how wonderful and how good God truly is. And a dream, oh, a dream, a longing just waiting to be fulfilled. As I sit here reading Joshua chapter one asking God for the courage to change the things I can. He reminds me that He who has promised is faithful and He who began a good work will complete it. The plans He has are good plans.
It’s time to rise up and go take the land. Is the enemy of your soul standing on something that belongs to you?
Joshua1: "The LORD spoke… so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage... Only be strong and very courageous… Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Don’t be dismayed by your past! Today is the day of new beginnings if you and I will just believe that we serve a God who is able to do above and beyond what we can think or imagine! As it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"
Jesus said to the enemy it is written and so should we. Amen!
